Launch into Teaching

Accelerate your path towards earning a secondary education teaching certificate in STEM fields.

Course Offerings:

  • STEM-ED 101     Step 1: Inquiry Approaches to Teaching (1 credit) *
    May 12 – May 21
    Monday – Friday, 3:00 – 5:00PM
  • STEM-ED 102    Step 2: Inquiry-Based Lesson Design (1 credit) *
    May 22 – May 31
    Monday – Friday, 3:00 – 5:00PM

Full Tuition Scholarships Available

You could have your STEM-ED summer course fees covered by qualifying for and receiving the IDoTeach Summer Scholarship.

Priority given to:
  • STEM majors
  • 15 credits of required major coursework completed
  • Enrollment in both IDoTeach summer course offerings

Required materials

In addition to personal and academic information, you will be required to upload the following documents:

  • Boise State unofficial transcript
  • Letter of interest
    • Describe why you are interested in the IDoTeach Summer Scholarship in less than 250 words in appropriate letter format.
  • Adjudication form
    • Fieldwork is required for this course, which requires a current adjudication form to be completed at the beginning of the term, indicating you have no felony, misdemeanor, or Boise State code of conduct violation(s). An appeal can be filed to the College of Education’s Professional Standards Appeal Committee.
    • Complete and sign the adjudication form found HERE.

Summer Scholarship Applications Due

Priority Deadline: FRIDAY, APRIL 19 BY 5:00PM*

Final Deadline: FRIDAY, MAY 10 BY 5:00PM

*Scholarship applications received after April 19, 2019 may not be processed until after the fee payment deadline. Students will be required to pay their STEM-ED course fees by the deadline and will receive a credit in their BroncoWeb account in May or June 2019.
